Finally something can be said about Desire Luzinda that is not about her nudies. To all Desire Luzinda fans, we would like to reveal that she finally honoured her pledge and donated to Ibanda Babies home. Desire held a concert dubbed The Black and White Affair Charity concert mid last year and declared that up to 20 per cent of the proceeds would be directly donated to Ibanda Babies home.
During a press briefing ahead of the concert last June, Desire said she chose Ibanda because that’s where her mother hails from.
And while it took her another half a year, Desire unlike many celebrities fulfilled her pledge and drove down to Ibanda over the Christmas holidays and donated to the orphanage.
Desire donated goodies that mostly included domestic items such as sugar, sodas, toiletry items, beddings, and cooking oil. She also took with her a huge cake, which she cut and shared with the underpriviledged children.
However, a source close to Desire told us that the Ekitone singer honoured the pledge out of generosity since the concert didn’t make her any money. “There was no money from the concert, but Desire did this because she had pledged to needy people. She almost gave up, but after getting enough gigs after the nude photos incident, Desire decided to use her own money to donate to the children,” the source told us.
