We would like to join the rest of the world in congratulating our very own Radio and Weasel upon scooping the Best Reggae/Ragga award in the All Africa Music Awards gala held last weekend in Lagos Nigeria.
The dynamic duo as they are popularly known arrived in Nigeria last Saturday night, along with renowned producer Washington Ebangit and they picked up the award just hours later.
However, unlike their usual visits to Nigeria, this time round, Radio and Weasel were on a secret mission that will see them return from Nigeria with so much to show besides the award.
Our sources in Lagos told us that besides the award, Radio and Weasel will be staying in Naija a little longer than usual, to shoot a record seven music videos.
According to sources close to the duo, the Ntunga-singers will be shooting videos of seven songs that they recorded Nigerian star Wizkid during his visit to Kampala last October.
While we had known the duo to have recorded only four songs with Wizkid, a source told us that Wizkid went with three beats to put voices in his studio in Lagos. “Their trip to Naija was simply timely; Wizkid did his part of voicing the three other tracks and all that was left, was for Radio and Weasel to sing their bits,” the source told us.
The source also added that, Wizkid offered to pay up for five of the seven videos, while Radio and Weasle will foot bills for the other two.
Meanwhile, after their performance at the awards ceremony last weekend, the duo struck a deal with another Nigerian star- Wande Coal and recorded a collabo on Sunday.
Rumour also has it that a collabo between Radio and Weasel and 2Face Idibia might also be in the offing.
