I Don’t Know How She Does It
Meet Kate (Sarah Jessica Parker) the woman who can literally be in 10 places at the same time. She is also the breadwinner for her husband Richard (Greg Kinner) and two daughters. Kate spends the night making lists of what she has to do the following day instead of sleeping or making out with her husband.
If you ask her to make a presentation in 30 minutes she will do it. Ask her to write a report in 20, she is on it, ask her to sit in for the baby sitter she will do it just like she will rush to pack if she has to fly so as to attend an abrupt business meeting.
No one knows how she does it. Given the numerous tasks, this movie manages to be somewhat fast paced. I particularly like the scene in forward mode of sorts were Kate is jumping from one car to another to plane to home, to her children’s school and office.
But when she works too hard and seals a deal with tycoon Jack (Pierce Brosnan) for her company, it hits her that she must slow down for her family. This flick is interesting, it has all sorts of characters that make it hilarious.
When Kate’s life slows down the movie kind of loses it because today’s career woman’s life doesn’t get to slow down. But what the slowing down teaches is how much it takes to balance family and career and what should be the priority of the two.
