Christmas might have been a little soggy, but that didn’t stop the party at Speke Resort Munyonyo! Patreople were buzzing with excitement as they gathered at the brand-new Sunset Lounge in the Convention Center to eat, drink, and make merry. The food spread was nothing short of amazing, with local favourites like mashed banana going head-to-head with continental dishes.
By 3pm tables with name tags were quickly occupied, and before you knew it, extra tables were being brought in to handle the swelling crowd. Adults—well, they dug into the mountain of feast served and wolfed every morsel. The event had some serious star power, with top influencers and decision-makers from all over the country romping. Plates were stacked high and refilled constantly, and wine glasses never seemed to be empty for a long talk about climate change.
The chefs and staff were on top of their game, making sure everyone had a good time and seeing to it that the food was as delicious as it was plentiful. The turkey was carved right in front of you, letting guests pick the perfect chunk, while the deep-fried fish had diners in a bit of a stare-down. The kids were all over it, fighting for the fish heads and joking that they wished there were two heads on each fish. Later they besieged Santa Claus, grabbing sweets and wrapping gifts.
Live jazz filled the air as the crowd swayed along to the smooth jazz rhythms of country, rock and the classic Christmas carols. They were the perfect soundtracks to listen to on an unforgettable evening.
By 4:00 p.m., the entrance was buzzing with activity—4WDs, motorcycles, and pedestrians all making their way through the gates, where security checks ensure everyone’s safety.
As the sun dipped behind the horizon, the energy in the air was electric. Smiles were everywhere, hugs and laughter were exchanged, and it was clear: people were happy.
Now that was a Christmas to remember!
