Amarula family co-founder, Messe Bontwe, dies in America

One of the founding members of the Amarula family, Nicolas Mpirwe, popularly known as Messe Bontwe, has passed on.
Mpirwe who was also a radio presenter at Dembe and Super FM died in the USA where he had relocated a few years back.

One of his closest friends and former Eagle Production’s member, Grace Sekamate, said they are still waiting for the post-mortem report to know the cause of his death.

“He has been well and not complaining of anything. He came back from work, ate food and told us he was going to have a nap because he was tired. Five minutes later, someone called us that he was losing his life and when we reached him, he was struggling for life,” Mr Sekamate told our sister station, Spark TV in a telephone interview.

Mpirwe was announced dead upon arrival at the hospital where an ambulance had rushed him for treatment.
Mpirwe travelled to the US for greener pastures about a year ago after announcing in 2021 that he had quit comedy because he was too old for it.
