Jose Chameleone calls for reconciliation with King Saha amidst feud

In a heartfelt appeal, veteran Ugandan singer Jose Chameleone has urged his fellow artist King Saha to put an end to their ongoing feud, emphasizing the futility of prolonged conflict in the music industry. Chameleone, a prominent figure in the Ugandan music scene, reflected on his past experiences, acknowledging that while feuds have occasionally sparked interest, they ultimately brought no substantial benefits to either party.

In an audio message that has been making rounds on social media, Chameleone admitted to causing pain with his words, expressing a desire to mend their relationship. “King Saha is like a son to me and a dear friend. I understand that my comments have hurt him, but I want to remind everyone that I am human and, like anyone, I can make mistakes,” he stated.

The seasoned musician emphasized the importance of reconciliation over animosity, urging both parties to focus on healing rather than harboring grudges. “What Saha expresses comes from a place of genuine emotion. I’m not perfect; I can stumble just like everyone else,” he added, indicating a willingness to take responsibility for his actions.

The tension escalated last week when King Saha, who has long regarded Chameleone as a mentor and inspiration, publicly voiced his disappointment. Saha accused Chameleone of undermining his career by attempting to sabotage a booking in Denmark, claiming, “He told the promoter not to book me. How can someone who claims to be my mentor actively try to bring me down? It reveals a bad heart.”

Furthermore, Saha expressed his frustration over Chameleone’s insensitivity regarding recent events, specifically referring to the injuries sustained by fellow artist Bobi Wine. “When Bobi was shot, Chameleone dismissed it as his own business. This is the same man who consoled Bobi after the loss of his brother. It demonstrates a lack of empathy,” Saha remarked, visibly shaken by the inconsistency in Chameleone’s actions.

Despite their current discord, it’s important to remember the mutual respect the two artists have historically shared. Both Chameleone and Saha are significant figures in the Ugandan music landscape, and their contributions have shaped the industry. As they navigate this disagreement, one can only hope that it serves as an opportunity for growth rather than a division that threatens to sever their longstanding bond.

In an industry that thrives on collaboration and support, the hope is that Chameleone and Saha will find a way back to each other, setting an example of unity for the next generation of artists.
