Judith Nahurira Foundation brings hope to Kitezi disaster survivors

The Judith Nahurira Foundation, led by Ugandan philanthropist and entrepreneur Judith “The Boss Lady UK,” has provided critical support to the victims of the recent Kitezi garbage disaster.

On Thursday, August 22, the Foundation visited the Red Cross Camp in Kitezi, where survivors and orphans have taken refuge. Beyond delivering immediate relief, such as food, soap, and other essentials, the Foundation made a significant pledge to sponsor the education of children who lost their parents in the tragedy.

This initiative marks a key moment, as Judith “The Boss Lady UK” is the first Ugandan civilian outside of the Prime Minister’s Office to offer such long-term support. Her commitment to educating over 10 children provides a beacon of hope for their futures.

“I am humbled to be in a position to give back to the community,” Judith shared. “These children need hope to break free from poverty, and I am committed to ensuring they receive an education, allowing their remaining families to focus on survival.”

John Cliff Wamala, leading the Red Cross team at the camp, expressed gratitude for the Foundation’s intervention. “This is something many of us have been deeply concerned about. We are thankful to Judith for taking on this significant responsibility,” he said. “We hope more Ugandans follow her example, as it’s crucial to plan for tomorrow while addressing today’s challenges.”

The Judith Nahurira Foundation has a proven track record of supporting Ugandan communities. One of their projects in Kalerwe provided interest-free loans to 26 hard-working individuals. The Foundation’s mission remains steadfast: “To empower and protect those in need.”

Those who share this vision are encouraged to partner with the Judith Nahurira Foundation. To learn more about their ongoing efforts or to contribute, visit www.judith-foundation.

Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of these vulnerable children and the communities they belong to.
