Irene Namatovu ecstatic after YouTube withdraws copyright complaint

Da New Eagles artiste Irene Namatovu is overjoyed after YouTube withdrew a copyright complaint filed by Mariam Massa, who had alleged that Namatovu had infringed on her song.

Namatovu shared the news on her social media platforms, explaining that the strike was a mistake.

“I am pleased to share some good news with you all. After a thorough review by the YouTube copyright team, it has been determined that the removal of my song ‘Fumba’ featuring Annet Nandujja was a mistake. The song does not match or resemble any other songs,” she stated.

The Afrima Best Artist in the African Traditional category for 2018 added that the song is back on YouTube and called on her fans to listen and share it widely.

The Kuzala Kujagana artiste had been reported by Mariam Massa, who claimed that Namatovu had pirated her song Ofumbanga Nyabo to create Fumba, a collaboration with Annet Nandujja.

Massa revealed that she was responsible for the action taken by YouTube to remove the song from the platform.
