Welcome back from the Channel O video Music awards …
Thank you. They were fantastic. We didn’t bring back any awards but P-Unit, our brothers in Kenya brought two awards to East Africa, so it was still a win for all of us.
What was the experience like at the awards?
It was a great experience. We got to meet all those other people who do music that we share the same kind of listenership with and we talked about so many things about how we are going to move forward because right now Africa is really taking centre stage musically, in movies and in many other fields.
How prepared are you for the battle?
Prepared is not the word you should use. You should ask how other parties are prepared for this battle, because we have been preparing ourselves for shows over the last five years.
We have only been on the scene for five years, but they are five years of intense work, improving our performance and crowd pulling. It should be the other party discussing how prepared they are.
What is your best Bebe Cool song?
Seriously, we are yet to hear one from him.
Bebe Cool is a big artiste, don’t you think he has given an opportunity to prove yourselves?
To prove ourselves to Bebe Cool, please excuse us. This is a fundraising show, we are just fundraising for this young man or old man whatever you want to call him.
We just want to show our goodness to this industry that we still care about our fallen heroes because we miss them on the international scene. They have been promising Ugandans that they are going to push Uganda internationally but we are still missing them up here. We are rubbing shoulders with the biggest stars out there but our so called big artistes are missing in action.
It would be nice if Uganda was represented by a big team like Radio and Weasel, Bebe Cool and others at international level, but we are the only ones there.
What should the GoodLyfe fans expect at this show?
The GoodLyfe fans and all music lovers in Uganda should expect a music explosion.
