Social media is filled with posts and comments from different people who are reacting about the derogatory statements made by renowned stand-up comedian MC Mariachi about young sensational Tik Toker Rango Tenge Tenge during his performance on Valentine’s Day at the Comedy Store on Wednesday evening.
In a clip that circulated all over different social media platforms MC Mariachi is seen and heard making fun of the Tenge as he made jokes that sent the audience into laughter. Tenge Tenge who was making his first appearance at Comedy Store was in company of a group of youngsters who put up a performance made up of dance moves that the young Tik Toker normally does in his Tik Tok videos coupled with acrobatics.
“If a woman gives birth to a baby like Tenge Tenge, I would abandon her and the baby in the hospital,” Mariachi remorselessly joked about the young Tik Toker. Several people however did not find this punchline funny and took it to social media to express their dissatisfaction.
“Other countries are uplifting their people, all we do is to put people down,” musician Alexander Bagonza alias A Pass furiously reacted on the act made by Mariachi in live video made on Tik Tok. “Do you sometimes get out of words to say and resort to looking for someone to put down,” the self styled music teacher questioned the comedian’s actions. Apass also put it that the reason as to why people like him no longer go to comedy nights is the language he referred to as vulgar some comedians use while putting up their stage performances.
Apass suggested that it is time for comedians to rethink how they do their business a message he also forwarded to Alex Muhangi the CEO of Comedy Store. “You need to regulate the way you do things,” the Tuli Kubigere hit maker angrily sent a message.
Several people also expressed their discontent and reacted about Mariachi’s act in different ways. “That statement Mc Mariachi made about Tenge Tenge was so careless and uncalled for. Kid is so innocent that he didn’t know what was going on. You can’t say that about how someone was born,” said radio host and events Mcee Collins Emeka on X (formerly Twitter).
In an unapologetic way, the Comedian on the spot responded to his critics in a video clip that also circulated on social media on Thursday evening. Mariachi said that he wishes nothing bad for the young boy but only success. He mentioned that he actually wants to move with the young Tik Toker where he will performing so that they can make more money together adding that those who are critising him are the ones that do not wish others to be successful.
