Ugandan model Anna Charity Nyabonyo is the winner of this year’s Afrimact Model of the Year award.
This was revealed, during the Africa’s Monarchs, Arts, Culture, and Tourism (AFRIMACT) awarding ceremony in Nigeria on December 1.
Ms Nyabonyo is the country director of Miss Africulture, the founding organization behind AFRIMACT. Nyabonyo is also part of Top Model Uganda, a branch of Top Model UK.
In an interview with Sqoop on Monday, Ms Nyabonyo acknowledged her consistency and confidence as instrumental in securing the victory.
She encouraged aspiring models to persevere, highlighting the plethora of opportunities for those with passion and determination.
“Let no one dim your light because they are not you,” she noted.
Nyabonyo expressed her intention to utilize the platform gained through the Afrimact Model of the Year award to inspire young talents across various fields.
“I intend to showcase that success knows no geographical boundaries and that individuals can excel in their chosen paths, regardless of their starting point,” she added.
Nyabonyo lives a double life as both a model and a land surveyor.
