Uganda’s celebrated DJ Rogers Kitaaka known by his stage name DJ Roja is headed for greatness. The self-proclaimed 7-star DJ over the weekend shared the stage with Nigerian star Johnny Drille. Johnny, real name John Ighodaro, is a renowned singer, songwriter, producer, and sound engineer from Nigeria. He is a singer signed under Mavins Records and is known for one of the biggest songs in Africa dubbed ‘How are You My Friend’.
Johnny Drille headlined the ‘Friends of Amstel Festival’ event at BK Arena in Kigali. The show also had other performers from different countries and Uganda’s DJ Slick Stuart and DJ Roja were among the DJs of the night however DJ arrived late which led to DJ Roja playing alone.
Roja who is known for playing and hyping the crowd left Rwandan revellers yearning for more with some of his hit songs and other mixes.
After being given 5-star treatment during the Friends of Amstel event, Roja took to Instagram to express his gratitude to Rwandans.
The Friends of Amstel Festival happened for the first time in Rwanda. However, it has happened in different countries that produce and distribute Amstel beer.
