Uganda’s music distribution platform Omziki has announced its expansion into Ghana. This marks a significant step towards its goal of becoming Africa’s leading music aggregator.
Dennis Wantate, the regional director for Omziki in East Africa has explained that the expansion into Ghana would serve as a gateway to tap into the West African region. This would enable him to expand further across the continent and beyond.
“Our objective has always been to expand across Africa and our first step is opening our doors to Ghana. Once established here, we can proceed to other West African countries,” he said.
To spearhead this expansion, Ghanaian music blogger and digital music expert, Jonathan Jonilar Nii Laryea has been appointed as Omziki’s ambassador and country director in Ghana. Omziki anticipates Jonilar’s involvement will drive significant growth and success for the brand.
According to Omziki, Jonilar’s contributions to the local digital music landscape have made him a reputable figure in the Ghanaian music industry and thus the company is optimistic about substantial growth and success with him on board.
