Gospel artiste Scovia Ainomugisha seeks help for Kidney transplant

Western gospel artist Scovia Ainomugisha

Western gospel artist Scovia Ainomugisha a mother of 5 is currently in critical condition battling a kidney disease that requires at least Shs150M for specialised treatment in India.

Ainomugisha knew about her kidney illness in 2019 after being diagnosed by Dr Rose Muhindo who later advised and referred her to India for a kidney transplant.

“I am in pain, I got kidney failure in 2019 after suffering so many illnesses, I started by growing thin until when I went to the hospital for diagnosis and found both my kidneys had been affected but only one was critically ill. I started taking drugs and doing weekly medical check-ups. Doctors later advised me to be put in a specialised machine to filter my blood cells (hemodialysis) and then they referred me to India for a kidney transplant,” said Ainomugisha.

She added, “I asked Dr Muhindo how much money was required for my kidney transplant, and she told me at least Shs150M and advised me to first get a Kidney donor before I go to India to avoid extra expenses. That’s the reason I am calling for help as I should have gone by now but I haven’t gotten money to take me there, I request you, people of God, to stand with me in this trying time.”

Regional gospel artistes have joined hands to help save their fellow singer’s life by all means. They scheduled a concert for June 26, 2023, at King of Kings Church in Kamukuzi Mbarara City to raise money for Ainomugisha’s kidney transplant in India.
