DJ Lito has earned the final slot for a Ugandan in the East African Arts Entertainment Awards scheduled for June 10, 2023, in Nairobi, Kenya.
The Afrimma Award winner joins other Ugandans including Mc Kats, Eddy Kenzo, Juliana Kanyomozi, Spice Diana, Sheebah Karungi, and Bobi Wine among others that have already been nominated.
He will be tussling it out with DJ Ally B, RJ the DJ, Seven Worldwide from Tanzania, DJ Joe Mfalme from Kenya, Pius from Rwanda, and Selecta Jeff from Uganda in the Male Deejay of the Year category.
Eddy Kenzo received nods in the Artiste/Group of the Year, best male, Best Afro-Native Single for his ‘Nsimbudde’ and Live Performance of the Year categories.
Juliana and Spice Diana were nominated in the Best Female Artiste category and Siri Regular in the Music Video/Video Director of the Year.
Other nominated artistes include DJ Kampire, Ykee, Jose Chameleone, Navio, Elly Wamala, Mudra, Sheebah, Azawi, Fik Fameica, Kataleya and Kandle, Karole Kasita Alyn Sano and Sat-B.
In the Diaspora Act of the Year Joanita Zachariassen (Denmark) was among the nominees and Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) got a nod in the Inspirational Artistic Leader of the Year. Eddy Kenzo also received the collaboration single of the year global for his song with Matt B known as ‘Gimme Love’.
In the MC/Event Host of the Year category is MC Kats while Florence Kasumba and Natasha Sinayobe are nominated in the Filmstar of the Year.
Nina Roz, Winnie Nwagi, Azawi, Spice Diana, Daddy Andre, Vinka, and Juliana have been nominated in the Best Ugandan sound single while Sylvia Owori and Anita Beryl got nominations in the Stylist/fashion Influencer of the Year category.
