Celebrated fashion icon Oscar Nyesiga of the Oscar Kampala brand has been acknowledged by the Parliament of Uganda for the great achievements.

Oscar Kampala was on Monday, 20 February, 2023 invited to the August house in recognition of his admirable efforts to foster development in the community.

As a developing country, Uganda faces a challenge of unemployment but with Oscar’s fashion project, hundreds have been employed.

Oscar Kampala has, in many ways sold the Ugandan brand across borders by styling big-stage names like Jidenna, Kizz Daniel, Bennie Man, Dj Neptune, Fireboy DML, Oxlade, Eddy Kenzo and many more.

Notably, the humble CEO was rewarded with two continental awards in Zambia for being the Best Young Entrepreneur of the Year Africa and Best Celebrity Stylist of the Year 2022.

It was no surprise that last year, Oscar was named ‘Most Inspirational Youth of the Year’ courtesy of his exquisite work in and outside of fashion sphere.

The Makerere University fresh graduate has inspired many youths to start up small scale enterprises that will flourish like Oscar Kampala did.

Socially, movements like ‘300 Men in Oscar Kampala’ and ‘1000 Men in Oscar Kampala’ have often engaged uncountable Ugandans to celebrate the home-grown brand.

The Speaker’s chambers saw it worth to recognize Oscar’s exemplary contributions.
