Fashion wins from the 2023 Grammys

MAKING HISTORY: For the first time in history, Uganda was winning at the Grammys as we had our own Eddy Kenzo representing as a nominee.

The Crypto.com Arena was quite the scene last Sunday night as the world’s biggest stars, including Uganda’s Eddy Kenzo, stepped onto the red carpet to celebrate the 65th edition of the Grammy Awards, which is dubbed Music’s biggest night in Hollywood.

The event celebrates the top wins from music across the world, and it was definitely refreshing to see more African representation and wins at this year’s edition with stars like South Africa’s Nomcebo Zikode, Nigeria’s Tems, and Zakes Bantwini were some of the stars who won at the event.

However, there were so many other stars who were already winning, as they made their arrival on the red carpet, with their fashion choices. These are some of the most noteworthy looks from the Award night.

Cardi B

The hip-hop star chose an electric blue sculptural dress by designer Gaurav Gupta, from his SS23 Haute Couture collection. The Indian couturier is synonymous with his deconstructed and sculptural gowns and has fast become a go-to choice for a lot of stars in Hollywood for their red carpet choices. This particular look on Miss Cardi is statement, stunning, and a red-carpet win.

Tems

The Nigerian superstar came dripping in gold by Vivienne Westwood, and this was possibly a manifestation of her later win, as she walked away with a Grammy accolade at the end of the night. The corseted gown was detailed with pearls and completed with a gold purse and playful hairdo.

Anderson Paak

The Grammy Awards is one of those events that allow you to be as expressive with your fashion, and that is why this floral suit is a win. Not only was it a breath of fresh air from the usual tuxedos, but it is also well put together, fits well, and the accessories allow for the floral print on this to take centre stage.

Jasmine Sanders

The media personality and model chose a metallic blue plunging back gown, complete with double contrasting hue trails. She contrasted her look with green emerald earrings and a blonde hairdo.

Scott Evans

TV host and actor, Scott, served up a style-approved spin to the double-breast tuxedo, by wearing it shirtless, with a wide-legged detail added to his pants. His statement boots and layered neckpieces are all the vibe this look needs!
