What do you do?
I own Golden Graphix. We do branding of promotional items like T-shirts both in screen printing and embroidery, heat press, sublimation, cups, mugs, clocks, display plates and digital printing. We are located on Nasser Road, on Modern Building.
When did you start this business?
June 1st this year.
How much did you use as capital to open up this business?
I used Shs40m.
Where did you get the money to start it off?
Savings from my previous businesses.
How much do you charge?
For screen printing, we charge Shs15,000 if the pieces are 100 and more but if they are less, we charge Shs25,000 to Shs30,000 and for embroidery, you have to part with Shs20,000 if they are 100 or more and if they are less, you need to have Shs70,000 to Shs80,000.
Did you study this kind of business?
No I didn’t. I did a Bachelor’s in Tourism but my family has been in printing for a very long time. Let’s just say I fell in line.
Any challenges?
Bad debts, limited capital, some seasons are bad for business, and high rent.
