Open Mic Festival goes to West Nile

Open Mic Festival said to be one of the biggest events that started in Gulu in 2017 has now expanded to the West Nile region of Uganda. The event organized by Paul Mutanga aims to showcase talent in music and any other form of art.

The event has featured artistes, DJs, Live Band performers, and Poets over the years with it getting better with every edition. The event that attracts thousands of partygoers last year launched in Arua and that was the 10th edition of the Open Mic Festival.

Mutanga who is the brains behind the festival says the platform has helped expose the talent that the Northern and West Nile parts of Uganda have. “From poetry, music, and DJs, we have managed to expose many talents to the creative arts industry, and this year, we promise it will be bigger and better each edition,” Mutanga said.

The last edition of the festival, which was also the last edition of 2022, happened at Santa Maria in Arua City and it was a successful edition. It featured artistes like Monopoly from West Nile, John Frog from South Sudan, Sundiata, a comedian from West Nile, Pcy, and the Live Band among other performers. This year’s edition, which will be the 11th edition is said to be happening soon and will be announced by the organisers.
