Janzi Band impress, Nwagi a no show at Absa End of Year party

Janzi Band has had a remarkable year. It has been one of the most booked bands in Uganda. Last Thursday evening, they made some extra cash after they were booked for a performance at the Absa clients’ End of Year party that happened at Sheraton Hotel Kampala gardens.

The band played songs that appeased the clients who were seen responding by dancing and singing along to the lyrics of those they know.

Among the songs the band played included Michael Jackson’s ‘You Rock My World’, ‘Heartbreaker’ by Sauti Sol, Big Mountain’s ‘Baby I Love Your Way’, ‘Take You Home’ by Goodlyf and ‘Nantongo’ by Afrigo Band among others.

Janzi played for an hour and was supposed to be done by 9 pm, leaving the stage for Winnie Nwagi who could not make it to the event.

The emcee of the evening RS Elvis had promised a surprise artiste but he later announced that she couldn’t make it.

“I am afraid the artiste is not coming through. Could it be that you did not send her transport money,” he said and this sent the crowd into laughter.

He then went on to hold a raffle draw that saw a lucky gentleman winning a King George Reserve V bottle that is said to be going for Shs3.4M

With Nwagi’s absence, Janzi returned to the stage and gave the clients five last songs as they were busy taking their last drinks before calling it a night.
