When boxing meets music: Nwagi, Saha to spice up Ouma, Okwiri fight

12 Rounds Sports Promotion plans to stage yet another great boxing event but is spicing it up with great musical performances. As if this is not enough, one of Uganda’s best boxing export Kassim ‘The Dream’ Ouma will be part of this event.

Earlier this year, the boxer had hinted that he plans to hold his last fight in Uganda, will it be this one?

Ouma is set to face Kenyan Olympian and former continental champion Rayton Okwiri (8-0-1, 6 KOs) in December this year in Kampala. The fight will be hosted at the Cricket Oval in Lugogo, on Boxing Day in an event dubbed ‘Rumble in Kampala’.

This will be his first-ever professional fight in Uganda and the second on the African continent. The day’s menu also has several elite professional fighters from Uganda and Kenya.

To light up the day, musicians King Saha and Winnie Nwagi have been confirmed to perform before the boxing enthusiasts.

According to the organizers, boxing and music go hand in hand.

“For a long time, Boxing and music have always gone hand-in-hand. They are complimentary,” fight promoter Stephen Sembeguya Magulu revealed.

Ouma who is famously remembered for his romance with artiste Juliana Kanyomozi boasts of 47 fights with 29 victories (with 18 knockouts), 17 draws and one loss (29-17-1, 18 KOs) is equally ready.
