The Women’s Getaway, a female empowerment initiative that was unveiled four years ago by the Nabagereka of Buganda, HRH Sylvia Nagginda, held its fourth edition at the Kampala Serena Hotel last Saturday.
The event was graced by numerous women from different walks of life and careers, who gathered at the high tea event that was themed ‘Know your worth’.
Guest speakers at the affair echoed messages of women empowerment, self-care and love, and urged the females present to take the present as an opportunity to rebuild themselves, forgive themselves and steady onto the future.
Kenyan content creator, Catherine Karuiki, also known as the fashionable stepmum was the guest speaker, and she shared her life’s journey on several topics, including her weight loss journey, launching her own company that enabled her facilitate her hobby – travel, among others.
Wedding planner extraordinaire, Renzioni Hill, who was the other speaker, urged the women to put themselves first, and embrace those self-care journeys.
“As women, you need to do whatever it takes to make yourself, not only feel good but look good. You have to take all the attention in whatever room you step into, and when it comes to taking care of your body and looking good, spare no expense,” Renzioni remarked.
The high tea event also had entertainment from spoken word artiste Angel Kabera, an overflow of cocktails courtesy of Gordons Pink and entertainment from Saul Deejay.
