It’s almost gone off our minds already considering that singer Bebe Cool is in fine health and has since been involved in several controversies. But like they say, legal cases never die until a verdict is reached. Bebe’s case in which he demanded for compensation of up to Shs1.5bn when a cop shot him in 2010 is  back.

According to out sources at High Court, Justice Benjamin Kabiito is set to resume hearing the case.
“Bebe Cool and some other witnesses including the people he was shot along with, already testified. So the judge is set to summon doctors who worked upon Bebe Cool and the other people that were shot to testify as the final steps in wrapping up the case,” the source revealed. We have also learnt that the judge might consult with doctors in the US who worked on the singer when he flew to Boston for treatment.

“The doctors will give evidence on the magnitude of injuries Bebe Cool sustained. They will also provide an assessment of a befitting compensation to the singer,” our source added.
On January 30, 2010, Bebe Cool and three other people were shot by a cop identified as Alfred Achikens and sustained serious injuries. Bebe sustained four bullet wounds in his thighs.

Bebe allegedly received over Shs170m from President Museveni as money for treatment abroad, but the singer decided to drag the Uganda Police Force and Government to court saying the president gave him the cash as a personal friend. Even after treatment, Bebe spent several months on crutches and moving in a wheel chair.

If Bebe wins this case, the government will have to compensate him with Shs1.5bn. Let’s wait for the verdict.
