Upcoming singer Flona real names Florence Nankinga Popularly known for her song ‘Kakigambe describes herself as a new kid on the block because she just started singing professionally last year.
Flona opened up about what she thinks of the industry since she joined noting that the competition is stiff but that won’t stop her.
“There are both positives and negatives in this industry, to begin with, there are many talented musicians out there. Every other day there is a new artiste who is coming up with new music, which is good for the industry this however means, the competition is stiff, which in turn has created desperation. This has made some artistes do whatever they can to get their music heard. I am however not competing against anybody, I am just doing my stuff and competing against myself.
Flona who is passionate about music states that she started singing while in school but has just recently started singing professionally and has several songs to her name. This has been possible because she spends most of her time in recording studios working on new songs and trying to grow with the music by working on fresh ideas with different producers.
According to her, she’s here to stay, and the only way to stay relevant is to work hard on new music and new ideas. Even though Flona can write her music, she currently working with a team of songwriters who write her music so that she can concentrate on singing.
‘Ekiteeso’, ‘Kingambe’, ‘Nkuvunaana’, ‘Love Nona’, and ‘Speed Controlle’, featuring Ziza Bafana are some of the songs she has released so far.
