Bobi in duet with Jamaica’s Mr G

Bobi Wine

Bobi Wine

Singer Bobi Wine is ranked among the top 10 artistes in Uganda, but has failed to make an impact in neighbouring countries and Africa generally.

Earlier this year, Bobi recorded with Zambian singer Mampi and even indicated that he was due for a performance in Lusaka. Bobi also said he was set to record four more duets with Mampi as a way of marketing himself in Zambia.

But before Bobi could fly to Zambia, the ghetto gladiator took us by surprise as he released a new duet titled Out and Clean, which he did with Jamaican dancehall singer Mr G (formerly Goofy).
Out and Clean has good beats and could pass for a nice dance-hall song. However, Bobi will have to go to Peter Miles or his Good Lyfe buddies for some lessons if he is to have his music cross borders. Bobi’s execution in the song is lacking; he actually re-affirms that he is indeed suited for the local market.

Yet Bobi hopes that the song might be his entry point into Jamaica. Well, who knows, with a nice music video, the song might surprise us especially because it features Mr G of the Swaggerrific fame. Congs still Bobi.
