Fik Fameica goes back to his roots ahead of concert

Fik Fameica

Before becoming the artiste he is now, Shafik Walukaaga commonly known as Fik Fameica was vending clothes downtown. He was selling clothes for a living until his music career took off. With his concert just hours away, Fik Fameica stepped out of his comfort zone and went downtown after three years since he was there.

As a way to promote his show that is happening tomorrow at Hotel Africana, the ‘Majje’ singer went downtown hawking tickets. During the drive, a businessman bought tickets worth two million shillings in support of the flourishing artiste. He even appealed to others to come through for the show because he was once one of them.

“I want to appeal to all of you to support me on Friday. I’m one of you because I used to work here. I didn’t have a stall but would just find free spaces and sell my clothes,” he said.

During his press conference at Hotel Africana earlier yesterday, Fik Fameica assured his fans that he will be stepping on stage at 9:30 pm and will be performing for two hours non-stop.

“If we didn’t have limits, I would even perform till morning but because shows are supposed to end by midnight, I will be on stage by 9:30 pm. The show will start at 6 pm and until that time, my colleagues in the industry will be entertaining you.”
