The first edition of the ‘back yard Rave’ was held at Kati Kati restaurant Lugogo with an overwhelming number of revelers in attendance.
The day had a lot of activities to keep the crowd busy as gates opened at 10 am. Many were seen enjoying music from selected deejays including Elnicho and Slaughter Elly while others enjoyed activities from several sponsor stalls that were set up. From food to hard and soft drinks, everything was available.
When night came, deejay Nimrod took up the mantle of keeping the crowd mixing some of the latest jams in Afrobeat, dancehall, local, and Hip Hop before mixing it up with Amapiano vibes and Nigerian before performances kicked off.
Jowylanda and Ricky Miles were the headlining acts and they put up a good show especially Jowy Landa with her Saba Saba, Nawe, and her latest Nyumilwa that left the crowd dancing and singing along.
The organising team with the keen guidance of Silk events has it that if all goes as planned, The BackYard Rave will become a monthly event.
“The support we’ve received today is overwhelming. Besides promising and anticipating a much better second edition, the Back Yard Rave party will also feature an international artist,’ said Joan Lubega, one of the organisers.
