“The world has lived a false generation for a while, where parents and their children can never be true to themselves in terms of responsibilities and accountability. A generation where people no longer feel comfortable or proud of their ethnicity/backgrounds and a lot more,” observes Michael Basajjabalaba.
The actor and mentor has rallied TIG Network Afrika, a newly-instituted organisation geared towards strengthening families/societies, to put up a production that will be showing at National Theatre in Kampala starting on Good Friday.
The show will run under the taglines ‘Your story is powerful’ and ‘Reviving the glory of family starting with children’.
Various forms of art including poetry, comedy, singing, drama, dance, fashion, photography and painting, will be used to highlight the need for improved communication, respect to culture, living a purposeful life and promoting talent.

Basajjabalaba says the show is centered on mainly theatrical talents and visual art exhibitions, with respect to values.
“The show is open to all interested youth to participate in the activities, where some will be rewarded with prizes. It should be noted that each category will have well-established artistes to crown each show with performances,” he says.
He added that a number of inspirational and motivational speakers, including former mayoral candidate Innocent Kawooya, Dr Sabrina Kitaka and Trade Mark East Africa’s Damali Sali will be in attendance.
