Mzee Godfrey Jjemba Matte, 68, is the man of the moment after the “funeral announcer” became an online sensation, with thousands of memes dedicated to him.
Jemba was a few weeks ago transformed into the internet’s new sensation courtesy of his picture that went viral when reading announcements at a funeral.
After the photo started making rounds, Ugandans developed different hilarious captions it that have since been massively shared on social media.
When this happened started appearing in the news to tell his story. Now a video in which the announcer has made its way to social media but this time he is seen enjoying life. In the video, he is chilling at the poolside with a fine-looking girl who is believed to be his new girlfriend.
Jemba in his initial interviews had revealed that he was single after breaking up with his wife of 11 children, showing a willingness to find new love. The 68-year-old is seen looking cozy with a lady probably in her 20s, something which has sparked public debate owing to the age difference between the two.
A farmer from Kyerima in Kayunga, Jjemba is now a regular in the sauna, Gymn, and swimming pool.
