It was time to sip and dine as surveyors under their umbrella organisations Institution of Surveyors of Uganda (ISU) and Surveyors Registration Board (SRB) held their annual end of year luncheon at Sheraton Hotel in Kampala last week.
The dinner was accompanied by melodies from Afrigo Band which got the surveyors dance away the year in style.
It was exciting and refreshing seeing Bugweri Woman Member of Parliament Racheal Magoola take off her parliamentary cape and get on stage and when she performed her Obangaina hit, the surveyors could hardly stay seated.
It was at the same event that the surveyors also launched the 6th Pre-AGM 2022 conference.
Dr Nathan Kibwani, the ISU president said it was usually on their annual plan, as ISU, to hold a luncheon like this to ‘shake off’ the year and look forward to the next.
“However, because of the Covid-19 circumstances everyone is aware of, we were not able to have such a luncheon last year. We therefore thank the government for the commendable efforts on curbing Covid-19, such that it is possible for us to gather here, like this, today. I encourage ourselves to continue following the SoPs,”he said.
Lands, Housing and Urban Development minister Judith Nabakooba, who was the chief guest at the event, urged the surveyors to continue promoting and advancing professionalism in the sector.
