Gaming has of late been one thing that occupies most of the youths fee time. They are either playing FIFA, the football game or Racing (Need for Speed, Blur). Few have gotten access to virtual reality games but seems like very soon, most of the game hubs will provide more than just Play station games but also Virtual Reality games.
Gamer’s Empire, a state of the art gaming hub has been opened on UK Mall and on this Saturday, it will officially launch to the gamers in Kampala. The game hub offers not just Play Station games like FIFA, NBA, Blur, Mortal Kombat, Justice League and Mission games among others. It is well equipped with Virtual reality games like Beat Saber, Moss, Eve:Valkyrie, Elite Dangerous, Robo Recall and Batman among others.
According to Lister Kansiime the Marketing Manager of Gamer’s Empire, the gaming hub was opened to show that gaming is not only for the young but also the old and that is the reason there are a mixture of games to cater for both ages. “Gamer’s Empire will be opened to the general public on Saturday and games will be affordable” Kansiime says. She went on to say that different Play station tournaments will be happening at the hub and these will be weekly, monthly and some at National level.
Gaming in Uganda started many years ago with some owning the game consoles at home and others partying with a small fee to pay to play a game. Most of these are very small hubs that only allow about less than 10 screens available for customers. Virtual Reality is slowly growing and is being embraced by people in the gaming business.
