Turkey-based Mugabi contributes to Evelyn Lagu’s cause

Evelyn Lagu

“Good evening brethren. This is to inform you that I will need a kidney transplant soon so am on a fundraiser campaign. We are looking for a sum of 200 – 250 million.” Posted Evelyn Nakabira better known as Evelyn Lagu a few weeks ago.

This was a call of help to the general public to rescue her with finances for further medication abroad her health condition is deteriorating every passing day. Her request was heard by Turkey-based socialite Anthony Mugabi who came to her rescue with Shs2m which was delivered to the artist yesterday by a lady known as Shamim who happens to be Mugabi’s associate.

This isn’t the first time Mugabi is reaching out to Lagu as a few weeks back, he paid the same money for her treatment at Nakasero hospital where she has been receiving treatment ever since president Museveni intervened in her wellbeing. Related to that, there will be a fundraising car wash at Messach Ssemakula’s Papa spot next Saturday for Evelyn Lagu starting at 8 am till late. Proceeds will go towards her medical bills in India.

The singer behind songs like ‘Ogumanga’, ‘Mbulila’, ‘Mbeerawo’ and ‘Sikyatya’ has been in and out of hospital battling with heart/ kidney complications.
