Jose Chameleone casts his vote

EALIER: Musician Joseph Mayanja alias Jose Chameleon, an independent candidate in the Kampala Lord mayoral race cast his vote at Kiduuka polling station in Mutungo.

Today, Ugandans have taken to the polls to vote for their district leaders. Lord Mayors for the cities and the LC 5 seat.

Legendary musician Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleone who doubles as a politician and is vying for the Kampala Lord Mayor seat has already cast his vote. In the company of his brothers Pius Mayanja aka Pallaso and Douglas Mayanja alias Weasel, he arrived at the polling station ready to cast his vote.

Chameleone who is standing as an independent candidate race cast his vote at Kiduuka polling station in Mutungo. After casting his vote, he addressed the media.

He is standing against the incumbent Lord mayor Elias Lukwago under the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) ticket, Ms. Nabilah Naggayi Sempala, the incumbent Kampala Woman MP, nominated under the National Unity Platform,  Charles James Ssenkubuge (Democratic Party), and musician Daniel Kazibwe, aka Ragga Dee

(NRM). Others standing on the independent card include Isaac Sendagire, Eddie Bazira Kibalama, Ben Lule, and Innocent Kawooya.

Unlike the recently concluded presidential and parliamentary seat elections, Wednesday district elections have so far registered a low voter turn up.
