At last, fans are finally going to find out the ultimate taste of ‘Kyaddala’ as the highly anticipated television Series was finally premiered at Kingdom Kampala in an event filled with glamor.
In an unusual style, ‘Kyaddala’ treated fans to a nearly world class Premiere that just like never before, the cast were seen signing autographs, the entourage was purely organized that even the lavish fleet of cars that ferried the cast to the venue was customized to match with the event. For those that attended the invite only event should be able to also render it one of the most organized Movie Premieres in Uganda.
The premiere that kicked off with a red carpet moment, saw Kingdom Kampala well decorated with perfect lighting as the sound from different artistes welcomed the guests who were dressed for the occasion in black and gold as they walked in for the pre- screening talk to prepare the audience and a cocktail to keep everyone refreshed.
The hundreds of fans and film-makers who graced the event got entertained with a special rhythmic unison from Afro-soul singer Kenneth Mugabi who was the curtain-raiser at the red-carpet.
Fan factory’s Richard Tuwangye alongside Rachael K who were the MC’s kept the event lively that the long wait to the screening could never be noticed.
The legendary Kaz Kasozi with his team alongside Naava Grey were at a glance to play the Orchestra in a feel that seemed like 2 Cellos performing at Sydney Opera House.

The premiere happened but….
The series has fine cinematography thanks to Loukman Ali and a good story to reckon with but the spoiler wasn’t the execution but rather the post production.
Much as the on-set sound was amazingly good, the editor faulted traditional elements of sound which is dialog where audio variations went wrong that the audio annotation which created inconsistencies.
The audio for close-up shots was higher in relation to wider shots which was a spoiler in the presence of hundreds of film-makers. However, the musical element was amazing thanks to the musical scores from Naava Grey and Kaz Kasozi.
The editor chose to use many tight in unemotional scenes and many kept dragging. However, with a few post production fails the series promises better since it is just the first episode.
Verdict
‘Kyaddala’ (Its Real) is a timely story and definition of a pan Africanism for young people given the dynamic cast from not only Uganda and Nigeria but Kenya as well.
The powerful storyline by Allan Manzi as directed by actor Emmanuel Ikubese is a production that Reach a hand Uganda thought better to suit the young generation and it will leave the viewer’s wanting for more if executed well.
