Balaam vows never to help celebrities battling Drug addiction, returns contributions

Balaam Barugahare

Events Promoter Balaam Barugahare has vowed never to come out and give a helping hand to celebrities in their trying moments most especially those battling drug addiction. Barugahare who has been the mobilizer in helping Singer Jackie Chandiru recover from drug addiction has come out to say that it was the last time he has done it.

Balaam (M), Pr Wilson Bugembe and Sophie Gombya the president of UMA making accountability of the money they had collcted

This comes after a Facebook post that was said to be put up by someone who claimed is a sister of Chandiru said that the hospital bill had been cleared to 100% by someone they didn’t mention and that Chandiru never needed any help from the General Public.

In the post, the said sister went on to say that they didn’t need anyone’s’s help and so Barugahare felt that some people didn’t appreciate his efforts to help Chandiru overcome her addiction.

Barugahare a few days ago recorded a video of himself with Chandiru mobilizing people to help Chandiru by sending their contribution to Pastor Wilson Bugembe, a gospel singer. The money that was collected by individuals had totaled up to Shs550,000 and Ugandans artistes in total also collected Shs950,000.

This prompted Barugahare and Pastor Bugembe to return the money to whoever had sent (how they did it, only God knows). “I have learnt a lesson and with this current situation, I don’t want anyone to call my phone asking me to help an artiste battling drug addiction,” Barugahare said.

He went on and said that he helped Mowzey Radio ever since University and when he was sick, he was the same person who came out to give financial support. “I put in my money to help do the big funeral that was held at Kololo Airstrip but what I got in return was the family members accusing me of having stolen the money, I am too rich to steal Shs10M” Barugahare concluded.

The bill that was said that to be cleared by a good samaritan wasn’t cleared because Recovery Solutions, a Rehabilitation Centre in Zzana was demanding Shs2.4M which Barugahare says he covered.
