Bwebinyuma Concert: Chris Evans registers full house

KAMPALA. Singing and rallying around to convince the fans to turn up in numbers at your music concert are two different things.

Most of the times, it’s the good songs and the artist’s working relationship with the community that attract people to attend their shows, and Chris Evans is no exceptional.

By nature, Evans is a down to earth man and when he organised Bwebinyuma Concert last Friday at Club Obligato, the Rihana singer registered a full house.

Much as the night was full of several events within Kampala including Uganda Cranes game against Senegal in Total Africa Cup of Nations played in Egypt that would have limited many from attending, Evans’ show sold out beyond expectations.

Chris Evans’ sister Maureen Namaganda attempts to remove a court from him as he performs at Obligato.

Music lovers remained royal in the cold weathers at Obligato and waited for their man of the moment Evans until 10.25pm when he appeared on stage singing Neberera Eno song loosely translated as ‘I stay this way’.

Evans gave room to other vocal artists like Stabua Natolo, Betina Namukasa and others to cheer up his fans.

At the end, the show needed efforts of Kyagulanyi’s brother Eddy Yawe to stimulate more happiness among the crowd with Tukigale song.

Mayor Sam Gombya with wife Sophie Gombya alongside friend Nambala were present at Chris Evans’ concert at Obligato on Friday.

The day’s master Kaweesi, later returned on the stage with traditional dancers and concluded the show with Bwebinyuma song before the curtains fell down.
