Hundreds gather to witness singer Jose Chameleone’s admission into DP party

Hundreds of Democratic Party supporters and singer Jose Chameleone’s fans on Wednesday gathered at Nsambya Sharing Youth Centre to witness his formal registration as a party member. The singer, real name Joseph Mayanja and his younger brother Pius Mayanja aka Pallaso who has intentions of joining politics come 2021 are going to be registered as DP members.

Chameleone declared his intention to contest for Kampala Mayor Seat in the 2021 general elections a seat that is currently occupied by Mr Erias Lukwago,a renowned lawyer. According to his social media post, the legendary musician was only counting down for this day to come. He said he’s set and ready to be unveiled as a Democratic Party member.

“The long wait is over!!! The long talk is over!!! The truth is now floating like oil over water!!!!! DP is firing up. It’s the transition and transformation. Come witness the first Mile of the journey,” the Tatizo singer posted.

This comes hardly a week after he visited the offices of the Democratic Party (DP) to announce his allegiance to one of the oldest continuing political party in Uganda’s politics.
