The mother of deceased artiste, Moses Ssekibogo, alias Mowzey Radio, has reported seven local musicians to CID accusing them of duplicating and selling her late son’s songs.
Ms Jane Kasubo told CID that her son’s songs are being reproduced and sold without the family’s knowledge.
The accused artistes, who have been summoned to respond to the allegations are Douglas Seguya alias Weasel, who was Radio’s co-singer in Good Life Music Limited, Geoffrey Kyagambidwa alias Chagga and Emotions Musinguzi.
According to the summons signed yesterday by Mr Henry Mugumya, the artistes are required to appear today at CID headquarters in Kibuli without fail.
The CID spokesperson, SP Vincent Ssekatte, said arrest warrants will be issued to the musicians if they do not respond.
“These are the last summons we are sending to them. If they don’t appear here tomorrow [today] we shall issue arrest warrants. They were summoned late last year but they did not show up,” SP Ssekatte said.

The songs
There are four other accused musicians whose summons are still pending. They are accused of reproducing songs such as Neera, Mpeka , Nakessa and Zino Enaku.
“The complainant [Ms Kasubo] alleges that songs such as Nekessa, Neera and many others were produced under Angel music, not under Good Life that he owned with Weasle. She says the songs were left by her son in the studios, on a hard disc which could have been stolen and sold,” SP Ssekatte said.
Mowzey and Weasle had been a successful music crew for more than 10 years until death broke them apart on February 1, 2018.
Radio died of head injuries he suffered in a bar brawl in Entebbe. Police arrested the bar bouncer Troy Wamala in connection with the murder and is currently on trial.
Police sources said Ms Kasubo, in her statement, said her son had registered a personal music company dubbed Angel Music Limited that he intended to officially launch on his 36th birthday that falls today.
It is also alleged that Ms Kasubo said her son had intimated to her how determined he was to start a sole career.
