Besides Bebe Cool and Irene Namatovu, soul singer Sandra Nankoma was the other Ugandan winner at the prestigious All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) happened on Saturday in Accra, Ghana.

Just like the other Ugandan participants, Nankoma did not expect to win the award for Best female Artiste in African Inspirational Music. She couldn’t wait to appreciate all those that have made it possible in her career and the perfect way she thought of doing it was through a Facebook live chart.

She thanked the organizers of AFRIMA, her fans, jazz and soul fraternity in Uganda and her mother among others.
“This award means so so much to me and to my country. My mum, you have made this possible for me, Africa you have made this possible for me, AFRIMA you have made this possible for me,” she said.

The musician further promised that she will not forget the kindness she has been given and that she will continue working hard and to talk about issues that society is afraid of tackling.

Before she could even complete the sentence, she broke down in tears for some seconds before pulling herself together.
