Actor Michael Douglas shows off his Walk of fame star
To be considered a big celebrity in the US, you need to at least appear on the walk of fame. Regardless of the money you have and number of fans, the walk of fame is always considered a major achievement.
Actor Michael Douglas was added to the list of ‘A’ stars to be recognized that way.
The Oscar-winning actor got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday in honor of his 50 years in show business.
“This is a great honor and I’m not getting any younger, I want to enjoy it with (my family),” the 74-year-old actor said as his star was unveiled.
He was joined at the ceremony by his wife and fellow actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, and other family members.
Also in attendance was Hollywood legend Kirk Douglas as well as Jane Fonda, who starred with him in the 1979 drama “The China Syndrome,” about an accident in a nuclear power plant.
Speaking at the ceremony, Fonda wondered why it took so long for the younger Douglas to finally get his star.
“Michael Douglas and I share something far more specific and unique than acting together,” she said. “We both come from families referred to by the press as Hollywood royalty.
“Both of our fathers were movie legends, and thankfully, Kirk Douglas is still with us,” she added, referring to her late father Henry.
Some of the movies that have made Michael Douglas a force to reckon with include Anti man, Rainmaker, and so it goes, the jewel of the Nile and the ghost and the darkness among others.
