Stella Nyanzi wants to organise naked women’s protest march

Dr Stella Nyanzi

Makerere University researcher-turned rights activist Dr Stella Nyanzi, is thinking of organising a naked women’s protest march, against President Museveni’s leadership.

In a poem on her Facebook page, the former Makerere University researcher said the march would entail no dresses, skirts, blouses, pants, bras, and petties.

“Bring your naked breasts. Jiggle your bare a***. Bring the pain burrowed in your chests. Chant about your empty purse. Write your slogans and protests. Let’s march against Museveni’s curse!” the poem reads in part.

She further writes that the 1,000 naked women’s march would involve no colours for political parties.

“Just naked women marching. Bring your unemployment. Bring the pain of land grabbed. March against armed deployment. March for the murdered and the stabbed. Oppose the dictator’s government. Let’s protest as hard as the disturbed,” she writes.

The last stanza reads; “I am thinking of organising The 1000 naked women’s protest.

No statuses,

No hierarchies,

No phalluses,

No patriarchies,

No bonuses,

No monarchies.

Just bad-a***s

Protesting against the anarchies.

We’ll hijack Museveni’s convoy with our nudity.

We’ll capture the dictator with our bare souls.

We’ll quash his avarice with our biting poverty.

We’ll liberate our country with our balls.

We’ll rewrite our painful history with our purity.

We’re warriors resetting national goals.”

The Makerere researcher is currently being investigated by the Police Criminal Investigations Department, over a ‘vulgar’ poem she wrote on President Museveni’s birthday.

The poem which was posted on Stella Nyanzi’s Facebook page on September 16, 2018, a day after Museveni’s 74th birthday. It was crafted in vulgarity and seemingly targeted at the president’s late mother Esteri Kokundeka. She followed the September 16 post with two others on September 18 and September 19.

In the posts, Nyanzi called on Esteri to come take her son away because he’s torturing and murdering Ugandans and looting the country’s resources. She also attacked Esteri for raising and looking away as her son continues to cause suffering to the country.
