Comedian Alex Muhangi shocked many when he was pictured kneeling to receive money from Bryan White. Muhangi joined the Bryan White Foundation (nicknamed the ‘Podium’) two months back and has been actively following the self-styled tycoon around the country.

In an unanticipated move, Bryan White has reportedly fired all the artistes and comedians he had signed to the Podium citing disrespect and lack of loyalty to the Podium’s goals. Muhangi, who is also among those booted, has however come out to clear the air about the reported firing.

“People are saying that we were fired but it’s not true. We had signed two months contracts with the Bryan White Foundation. The contracts were to expire on May 11 and we all knew it,” Muhangi says.

He laughed at those former podium members who recklessly spent the money given to them by Bryan White.

“We agreed to do serious work for those two months and me I did my part. Those who didn’t save are in trouble,” he laughed.

Muhangi made the statements during a Facebook live video with Peng Peng, who says he is the Bryan White Foundation spokesperson.

Peng Peng advised Muhangi and the other booted comedians to take to city streets and demonstrate till their former boss takes them back to the podium but he said it was not necessary.

“We need to respect the big man’s decision and wait when he calls us back. Me I have enough projects I can be doing in the meantime. But there is no beef between us. We are now friends,” Muhangi said.
