Jack Pemba offers Shs100 million to ASFAs

When Jack Pemba jetted into the country last Wednesday, he came with a big and hard-to-believe announcement. The tycoon who was just returning from Dubai announced that he was going to give Shs100  million to Brian Ahumuza, founder of the famous Abryanz style and fashion awards.

As expected, many thought it was a cheap publicity stunt and the tycoon would not deliver the said amount of money. The fact that he was absent from the Uganda social scene for over four months also did not help matters. Many thought he had nothing big to offer.

The business tycoon, however, proved his naysayers wrong at a press conference held at Serena Hotel yesterday when he delivered the promised Shs100 million in cash. Shortly after giving his speech Pemba sent for a bag from which he picked bundles of shs50,000, shs20,000 and shs10,000 notes and handed it to Bryan.

“Like I promised, this is money is to help in the organization of Abryans Style and Fashion Awards. I will be giving my friend, Brian, more money next week. He has sacrificed a lot to see that the fashion industry is growing and I’m so proud to be part of this great cause,” said a proud Pemba.
