Climbing up: In just two years Titus Vybes has taken over the music scene in Mbale. The artiste, who is also a student, spoke to DAISY NAGUDI on how he is able to balance music and school.
Who is Titus Vybes?
Titus Vybes is a young talented and versatile artiste, born and raised in Mbale. He does zouk, reggae, dancehall and afro music. Titus Vybes, also known as Munawa gwe zipigo is an energetic stage performer.
What is that thing that no one else knows about you?
I am shy. I am an introvert but also stubborn.
How and when did you start singing?
I have always been passionate about music and I was in the choir both in church and at school. I started singing in December 2015 with inspiration from myself and other artistes.
When I recorded my first song, it received a lot of encouragement from friends and other people.
How many songs have you recorded so far?
Four, with one video.
Which producers have you worked with?
I have worked with Paul Shan, Nessim Pan Production and Diggy Baur.
Which schools did you attend?
I went to Mbale Town View for my primary school, Jordan High School Mityana for my O-Level and Manafwa High School in Mbale for A-Level.
What else do you do besides music?
I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies at Islamic University, Mbale.
How do you balance music and books?
I have a strong management team, which helps me balance the two.
What makes you different from other artistes?
I am doing music that can appeal to the entire world.
Where do you see yourself in the next five years?
I hope to have my country’s flag held high on the international scene.
Are you in a relationship and do you sing for a particular girl?
Yes, I am in a relationship, I sing for the whole world but hopefully I will sing for my girl someday.
What inspires your music?
I believe I can change the world through music.
Which Ugandan artiste do you look up to?
Bebe Cool. He is also my role model.
What has been your best moment since you started singing?
The day my video played on NTV and when the Language video was ranked Number 3 on the 100 hottest songs on howwe.biz.
What challenges do you face in the industry as an artiste?
I am a busy guy and my schedule sometimes gets so tight with school, music, and work.

I want to thank the fans for supporting Titus Vybes and making me an icon that the world is looking upto right now. My simple advice to those who want to join the industry is to respect everyone, do clean work and of course work hard.
