Singer Maro’s song makes it to Trace Music

If there is one thing Ugandan musicians are keen on, it is spending more than enough on a music video. And that’s because they would like to see it crossing borders and being on International TVs, something we have not seen from our musicians in a while.

As you read this, singer Ronald Magada, also known as Maro is all smiles after his new video played on Trace Music for the first time. Maro has been in the music industry for five years now. The video, “Nziranago” whose audio has a touch of Bax-Ragga, a new music genre which has a blend of Ragga and Bakisimba was shot in Buyenda District.

Buyenda is a place in the eastern part of Uganda which became famous when the Speaker of Parliament Hon Rebecca Kadaga visited it to get ancestral blessings after winning back her seat as the speaker. According to Maro, he had promised himself that he would use his music to promote Busoga as a region. “Choosing a location for my video was for people not only in Uganda but internationally, to know how Busoga region is rich with culture as well as a potential tourism region,” the ‘Kyabazinga’ of RnB said. The video which was shot by Meddie Menz features one of Busoga’s renowned comedians Kamada and King Kong.
