The 3rd edition of the Bell lager Roast and Rhyme happened last Sunday at Jahazi Pier in Munyonyo but besides Bebe Cool, Mighty Son and Ifya the poet, Benon and Vampino were the other artistes who performed during the family day out.
Having taken different paths in their careers, Vampino sticking to singing while Benon is now focused on production, the duo stepped onto the same stage to sing together after over six years.
Benon was the first on stage and after doing songs off his “New Day” album like “Rise up” and “Olunaku olupya” among others, Vampino joined him and the magic between the two was simply awesome.
It looked like the two had never been separated at all. They complemented each other, engaged the audience, challenged each other on different dance strokes and performed their songs that the audience had last heard of seven years ago.
The duo did songs such as “Mumulete”, “Nsazewo”, “Rain on me” and “I know” among others with sections of the crowd singing along while others just jumped and screamed.
Bebe Cool’s performance was the icing on the cake. Backed by his Gagamel band, his music selection was on point. He even brought Dizzy Nutts on stage to do “Fire burn” and this showed the crowd that he still has the vocals despite spending a long time without performing.
Earlier on, Mighty Son had also done his part in the earlier hours of the day but his performance was only witnessed by a few people who were not even concentrating as they were taken up by the meat roasted meat.
