Chameleone returns to Coke studio after telling them to “Style up”

Chameleone

Last year Jose Chameleone was one of Uganda’s representatives at Coke Studios in Kenya. However, after a few mash-ups, the Wale Wale singer aired his disagreement and disappointment with the organisers for not being balanced in rallying for fans to vote for their favorite artistes.

“@cokestudioafrica my humble request is fulfill the intent of bringing Africa together musically through our different sounds from different cultures. I am totally disappointed that you make me and @ievaalordiah in this year’s season to participate and unfortunately light up artistes that are in your own interests. I have not seen any post from you directing my fans and @ievaalordiah fans to vote!!!! Next time fix fair balance or don’t get artistes to participate in this manner.

We are One Africa and @cokestudioafrica belongs to the continent as a whole. You are disappointing the fans” Style up!!!!! The viewers deserve apology on this,” he posted on his facebook wall then.
We do not know how the Coke Studio organisers calmed the singer but he has packed his bags and headed to Nairobi for yet another season of mashups. This time around, Chameleone has been paired with Mozambique’s singing sensation Neyma and Nigerian producer Masterkraft. The two have already started working on new music that fans will get to experience on the new Discover season.

“I am open to collaborating with other artistes but I am very choosy when it comes to who I actually work with. If you follow keenly you will notice that there is something about all Chameleone collaborations,” he told sQoop, adding that “It’s also great to discover Neyma’s culture and work with Mastekraft.”
