The music video: Obupangisa by Daxx Kartel

dk

Daxx Kartel tries to ride the wave of his Baala video concept. Yet this is an old wave he is trying to surf. Coupled to this is the mediocre lighting — very sub-standard. Nonetheless, that is all to the downside in the Obupangisa music video. All else is the upside.
It is still the same comical Daxx Kartel acting out the realities of being a tenant. We start off with a landlord who is paying homage to his chain of houses to collect rent. Daxx Kartel, whose rent is overdue is comfortably watching his TV. Clad in his signature shorts with his baby bottle and red-dyed hair, it is clear he is about to pull off his awesome acting skills.
Nothing is dreaded like the landlord’s morning knock. It brings everything to a standstill, it nudges one out of everything they are doing. The same applies to Daxx Kartel. In this video you witness the punishments the landlords give to the non-compliant tenants. Immediately Daxx Kartel’s iron sheet is taken off. His pleas fall on deaf ears, he deposits some of his assets but that does not help the situation.
It gets more interesting on the terms and conditions that have come to characterise rental houses. The stand-out moment is the pot-bellied dude who rushes back into his house on sighting his landlord. He literally bolts back like a flash of lightning.
Despite its flaws, Daxx Kartel succeeds in bringing to life the daily experiences on rental apartments. It’s what everyone goes through on a daily basis, this video visually re-creates these scenes. It scores on the ‘relatability’ and ‘believability.’
Above all, there is not a single drop of monotony. It’s eye-catching, you will smile or laugh from one point. And the story-line has clarity, it requires no explanation. Not your five-star quality video but one that will relieve you of that stress.
