Back in the day, crews having artistes from different East African countries or even a collaboration was the in thing. Today most artistes break through boundaries by their solo effort. Refreshing this memory is Cindy who teams up with Kenyan song bird Wahu in one of her latest tracks Yeye. This is no ordinary collaboration, it is a manisfestation of girl power that our airwaves have not experienced for sometime. The title of this track can loosely be translated as “he is the one”. These artistes sing of the only guy they are interested in, each singing of the little things that the guy does to them. On the first verse Wahu uses her infectious vocals telling her lover not to rush things between them so as he can experience the best of her, assuring him that in a matter of time he will all be hers. Just after that, the ragga diva checks in with her strong voice speaking of her prowess on the dance floor whenever he steps on the floor. She goes ahead and praises him for being the best in different fields, in her lyrics she confesses in words like “..he makes me go shalala”. Seated on very danceable beats, this song assures a listener of pleasure with a perfect sync and well balanced output between the vocals of the different artistes and instrumental. This song promises to work for a large crowd, ranging from English to Luganda and Kiswahili. With the right promotion, Cindy’s choice of collaboration and final output will put her not only on Uganda’s charts but also Africa’s at large.
