When you speak fashion in Uganda, the name Sylvia Owori comes to mind. The latest collections by the designer will be presented during a fashion show dubbed Forever Love at the Uma showgrounds this evening.
The designer will present outfits from different ranges including the resort and ready to wear. “Each range incorporates a great mix of vibrant colors, materials and prints,” Owori says.
The fashion show is primarily a showcase for original African fashion with several outfits made from a blend of Kitengi and other African materials and accessories. Owori will also address environmental awareness during the show by presenting several outfits made from recycled materials like denim. Most of the outfits to be showcased have been made by a group of local women under Sylvia Owori’s community development project in Mukono thus creating jobs eradicate poverty through fashion. Entrance to show is Shs50,000 for ordinary seats and Shs80,000 for V.I.P seats.
